Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed an order dismissing Aydar Zharylganov from the post of head of the Legal Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Akorda announced the move, according to infohub.kz.

The official statement did not give a reason for the personnel decision. Zharylganov had headed the Legal Department of the Presidential Administration since January 6, 2023.

Aydar Zharylganov was born in 1978 in Semey. In 1999, he graduated from Semey State University, and in 2001 from the Adilet Higher School of Law.

From 2001 to 2007, he worked at the Ministry of State Revenue and the Tax Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan.

In 2007, he moved to the Presidential Administration. Until April 2019, he successively held positions as expert, consultant, inspector, and head of a sector in the Legal Department.

From April 2019 to January 2023, he served as deputy head of the department, after which he was appointed to lead it.

In 2013, Zharylganov received the Certificate of Honor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in 2020 he was awarded the Order of Kurmet.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Tokayev had dismissed Dauran Kosanov from the post of Minister of Defense. The resignation came amid the deaths of 14 servicemen during exercises in the Caspian Sea. A criminal case has been opened over negligence and violation of navigation rules in connection with the incident.
