President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev met with Sergio Gore, the US President's Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi, infohub.kz reports.
According to the Akorda press service, at the start of the conversation Sergio Gore conveyed a personal message from President Donald Trump to Qasym-Jomart Toqaev with congratulations ahead of the 35th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence.
"Dear Mr. President! On the eve of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence, I send you my best wishes on this momentous occasion. In Astana and in every corner of the country, millions of Kazakhstanis will proudly honor the rich culture, historical heritage, and unique beauty that have been carefully preserved and enhanced since the republic declared independence in 1991. I highly value the Expanded Strategic Partnership between our countries and look forward to further developing the excellent relations built between you and me during both of my presidential terms. The people of Kazakhstan are fortunate to have in you a strong and resolute leader. It is a great honor for me to join in celebrating this important milestone," the congratulatory message from Donald Trump reads.
The head of state thanked the US president for his warm wishes and reaffirmed the invitation to the American leader to visit Kazakhstan.
Qasym-Jomart Toqaev noted the dynamic development of the expanded Kazakh-American strategic partnership, emphasizing the particular importance of further strengthening cooperation.
"I am now preparing to take part in the G20 summit in Miami. I think this will also be a good opportunity to discuss bilateral agenda issues. We prefer not beautiful words but concrete deeds and practical steps to advance our mutual cooperation," the president of Kazakhstan said.
Sergio Gore noted that thanks to close and trusting contacts between the leaders of Kazakhstan and the United States, bilateral relations have reached an unprecedentedly high level.
"Today, trade, economic ties, and interaction between our countries are actively developing. Our President pays great attention to strengthening partnership with Kazakhstan and Central Asia," the special envoy noted.
The meeting also reviewed a number of important areas of joint work, with a focus on such priority spheres as artificial intelligence and digitalization.
In conclusion, the interlocutors confirmed their commitment to further expanding multifaceted partnership and giving additional impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation.
