A video featuring President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's beloved horse Akzhan, published by renowned Kazakh videographer Dastan Mukhamedrakhim, garnered hundreds of thousands of views and thousands of comments within hours, reports infohub.kz.
Akzhan is a rare Akhal-Teke mare known for her grace and unusual light coat. As Mukhamedrakhim noted in the caption, "She was born in Astana, and her name was personally given by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Today, Akzhan has become a recognizable symbol of Kazakhstan's rich equestrian heritage!"
The horse's name translates from Kazakh as "Pure Soul." Akzhan has already been featured in several international publications. In the magazine of Rossiya Airlines, an article was published under the title "Heavenly Horse of the Great Steppe." The Chinese publication "Wings of China" also dedicated a separate article to her, calling the horse "Wings of the Steppe." The articles note that she descends from renowned Akhal-Tekes Ghanatly and Tabys.
Special attention is paid to the horse's appearance. Akzhan possesses a rare Isabella (cream) coat color, which occurs in about 3% of the breed. The in-flight magazines write that her coat literally "plays" in the light, creating a soft, almost silvery glow.
Furthermore, the horse's story has also appeared in Tengri, the magazine of Air Astana, read by passengers on international flights. Earlier, Kursiv reported that Tokayev showed off breeding horses from the presidential stable.
