President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev welcomed King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at Astana airport on November 5, as the monarch arrived for an official visit, infohub.kz reports.
A guard of honor was drawn up on the tarmac for a ceremonial welcome.
The King of Jordan will be in Kazakhstan on November 5–6. The presidential press service said earlier that talks at the highest level would focus on prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The Aqaba Process summit, bringing together the leaders of several states, will be held in Astana on November 6. The King of Jordan and the President of Tajikistan accepted Qasym-Jomart Toqaev's invitation and confirmed their visits to Kazakhstan.
