Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev sent a telegram of condolences to Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the crash of a Nigerian Air Force plane in Ondo State that killed 25 people, infohub.kz reports.

According to the Akorda, the head of state expressed condolences over the loss of life in the aviation disaster and conveyed words of sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims.

According to 24kz, Nigeria declared three days of mourning over the military plane crash. The latest reports say 25 people died. Flags have also been flown at half-staff nationwide in memory of the victims.

The incident occurred the day before in southern Nigeria. The aircraft was on a scheduled flight from Benin to Lagos. A few hours later, air traffic controllers lost contact with the aircraft. It was later confirmed that the plane crashed near a local naval base. The exact causes of the tragedy have not yet been established, and an investigation is underway.
