Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev has awarded the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, the Order of Altyn Qyran, infohub.kz reports. During the ceremony, the head of state emphasized that the Sultan of Oman's visit is historic in nature and represents a genuine breakthrough in bilateral relations.
According to the Kazakh President, Oman is a strategically important and time-tested partner of the republic in the Arab world. "For more than three decades, our cooperation has developed in a spirit of trust, mutual understanding and support. Today, as we welcome Your Majesty in Astana, we are elevating our relations to a historically significant level. This is the first state visit by a Sultan of Oman to Kazakhstan and Central Asia. I see this visit as a sign of sincere respect for my country and as a symbol of our two nations' shared desire to develop trade and cooperation in every area of mutual interest — whether traditional sectors such as oil and gas, or new fields such as transport and logistics, digitalization and artificial intelligence, as well as the exchange of information on trade opportunities and agricultural products. We are glad to have a strategic partner such as Oman, and we will do everything possible to be a reliable partner to your country," Qasym-Jomart Toqaev said.
The head of state noted the Sultan's unwavering personal commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. "Your Majesty, you are a great statesman. Your far-sighted approach to governance and your many years of service to your people command deep respect. The people of Kazakhstan hold you in the highest esteem and take pride in being able to call Oman not only a partner but a friendly, brotherly state. By investing in human capital, embracing innovation and building an economy oriented toward the future, you clearly demonstrate how strategic vision can transform a state and secure its sustainable prosperity. The Oman Vision 2040 program reflects your strategic course toward building a diversified, competitive and sustainable economy while preserving the nation's identity, values and traditions. As a true leader, a champion of peace and an embodiment of wisdom, you continue to inspire many people around the world and high-level politicians alike," the Kazakh President said.
Qasym-Jomart Toqaev separately highlighted Oman's role in strengthening regional stability, advancing interfaith dialogue and carrying out humanitarian initiatives. "Your ability to build bridges between different parties and foster mutual understanding has helped cement Oman's unique place in regional and international affairs. We greatly value this approach. Your country is rightly regarded as the most effective, fair and impartial international mediator. Your historic visit will forever remain an important milestone in the annals of Kazakhstan-Oman bilateral relations. It is a great honor for me to present you, Your Majesty, with the Order of Altyn Qyran in recognition of your invaluable contribution to strengthening the bonds of friendship between our peoples," the head of state noted.
