President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev addressed the nation with a congratulatory message on the occasion of Family Day, which is celebrated on the second Sunday of September, reports infohub.kz.
"Dear compatriots! I sincerely congratulate you on Family Day! The understanding of the family as the most important institution of the state and the fundamental unit of society is universally recognized. It is the family and its foundations that shape the identity of the nation. It is within the family that the foundation of a citizen's worldview and moral qualities is laid. The care of mothers helps us take our first steps in this world, the guidance of fathers serves as a guiding thread toward achieving our goals, and the wisdom of the older generation protects young people from adversity on life's thorny path. From generation to generation, we pass on national traditions and high moral ideals, thereby strengthening the cultural code and spiritual core of our people," the head of state said.
He added that according to the Constitution, which came into force on July 1 this year, marriage and family, motherhood, fatherhood and childhood are under the protection of the state. The Basic Law significantly strengthens the rights of children and the position of women and mothers in families.
"For the first time, the Constitution contains a provision that marriage is a voluntary and equal union of a man and a woman, registered in accordance with the law. This year, the institution of the Commissioner for Family Rights was established. Support for responsible parenting and the creation of opportunities for the full development of the younger generation are subordinated to the main goal: strengthening human potential — a key factor in the competitiveness of the state. Above all, it is at the family level that a new social ethic takes root, love for the Motherland is instilled, and an understanding of the exceptional importance of observing law and order, caring for nature and maintaining cleanliness in all public places, and raising children in the best traditions of our people is formed," the President said.
He expressed confidence that on this constructive foundation, Kazakhstanis will be able to achieve significant progress in the comprehensive development of the nation in a new historical cycle.
"We will achieve our goals and together build a Just Kazakhstan, where prosperity and comfort will come to every family. I wish all citizens of Kazakhstan health and well-being!" the message reads.
