Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent congratulations to Elena Rybakina on her triumph at the US Open tennis championship. This was reported by infohub.kz.
In his message, the head of state emphasized the magnitude of the Kazakh tennis player's achievement. "This tremendous success is clear proof that you were rightly named the world's number one. You have once again demonstrated true professionalism, determination, and impeccable conduct on the court. All of Kazakhstan is proud of your achievements! May this impressive victory inspire new sporting triumphs, and may your skill serve as an example for all young tennis players in Kazakhstan," the congratulation reads.
Recall that in the final match, the representative of Kazakhstan defeated Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka and became US Open champion for the first time in her career. Previously, at the American Grand Slam tournament, Rybakina had never advanced past the fourth round.
The trophy was presented to the winner by Maria Sharapova, former world number one, champion of all Grand Slam tournaments, and member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The champion thanked her team, family, and friends for their support. She also addressed Sabalenka, who stood nearby and could not hold back tears as she spoke.
