What projects link Kazakhstan and Qatar

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that in March 2024 the governments of the two countries concluded an agreement on long-term strategic partnership. The package of projects worth $17.6 billion included gas processing plants, the Aktobe—Kostanay and the second line of the Beineu—Bozoi—Shymkent gas pipelines, as well as power plants and agricultural processing enterprises.

In February 2025, Samruk-Energo and Qatar's UCC Holding signed an agreement to build a 1,000 MW gas turbine power plant in Kyzylorda. Earlier, QazaqGaz and UCC Holding agreed on projects for gas processing plants at Kashagan with capacities of 1 billion and 2.5 billion cubic meters per year.

Recall that speaking at the VII CICA Summit in Baku, Toqaev proposed developing a common transport connectivity strategy and creating a partnership in the field of human capital.
