President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev chaired the first meeting with the staff of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan after the body was formed as an independent state structure, infohub.kz reports.
The head of state emphasized that the new status of the staff should be viewed in the context of reforming state institutions. According to him, amid rapid changes in the world, the Security Council must become a center for making precise and well-considered decisions on key issues.
Qasym-Jomart Toqaev drew attention to the changing nature of modern threats. The focus was on cybersecurity and the use of artificial intelligence.
The Chairman of the Security Council particularly emphasized information, technological, food, water, and energy security, which will become especially relevant in the near future.
The President outlined priorities in these areas. The principle of "Law and Order" was named a key guideline.
Following the meeting, the staff was given a number of specific tasks. The main criterion for the effectiveness of the Security Council's work should be the reliable protection of Kazakhstan's national interests, sovereignty, and stability.
