Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev held a meeting where he heard reports from heads of relevant government agencies on the progress of the nationwide Taza Qazaqstan initiative, infohub.kz reports.
According to information published on the official Telegram channel of the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana Akim Zhenis Kasymbek presented a report on comprehensive landscaping and improvement of the capital.
According to him, in recent years, around 500 courtyards and public spaces have been improved in Astana. By the end of this year, the improvement of more than 170 courtyards and public areas, including parks, squares, and boulevards, is planned.
Qasym-Jomart Toqaev was informed about the progress of forming a unified system of public and recreational spaces along the Yesil River. As part of these efforts, a continuous green route is planned to connect parks, walking, and sports areas in different parts of the city.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Alibek Kuantyrov reported that over the years of implementing the Taza Qazaqstan initiative, more than 2,000 environmental events have been held across the country. As part of these events, more than 3.8 million tons of waste were collected and about 10,000 illegal dumps were eliminated.
Recall that today, as part of the nationwide environmental campaign Taza Qazaqstan, Qasym-Jomart Toqaev, together with youth representatives and eco-activists, participated in planting trees in the Presidential Park.
