Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that fostering an ecological culture is a task enshrined in the Constitution. The head of state made the statement while addressing participants of the Taza Qazaqstan campaign after planting trees in the Presidential Park, according to infohub.kz.
The president thanked the campaign participants and specifically addressed young people supporting environmental initiatives.
"Indeed, true love for the Motherland and native land always begins with small things — with care for one's own home, village, and city," Tokayev said.
According to the head of state, a caring attitude toward nature is among the principles passed down from generation to generation and now reflected in the new Constitution.
"We must foster a high ecological culture in society. I want to repeat once again: this is an extremely important task outlined in the Constitution," he said.
Tokayev added that the work within Taza Qazaqstan is being carried out, among other things, for the sake of the younger generation.
"Taza Qazaqstan is the key to our bright future. This is not just a slogan; it is the main path to the bright future of our state," the president said.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Tokayev, together with young people and environmental activists, planted trees in the Presidential Park. Minister of Ecology Alibek Kuantyrov also reported that during the implementation of Taza Qazaqstan, more than 2,000 events were held in the country, over 3.8 million tons of waste were collected, and about 10,000 illegal dumps were eliminated.
