President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev congratulated participants of a ceremonial event on Teacher's Day and spoke about new measures to support educators, strengthen their training, and introduce artificial intelligence in schools, infohub.kz reports.

According to the head of state, more than 12,000 graduates received state grants in pedagogical specialties this year. Over 2,000 holders of the "Altyn Belgi" badge became recipients of state grants in pedagogical specialties. Meanwhile, stipends for students who have chosen the teaching profession increased 2.5 times.

"Ahead of the new academic year, more than 15,000 teachers were employed in the regions, half of them young specialists. This means that a new generation of educated, energetic, and progressive teachers is coming to schools. Experienced educators should provide comprehensive support to young colleagues who are taking their first steps on their path. This will help cultivate true masters of their craft and form traditions of professional continuity. We must continue strengthening the human resource potential of the education sector. It is no exaggeration to say that qualified teachers are the foundation of a strong state. Higher education institutions play a special role in their training. After all, it is within university walls that the professional knowledge and skills of a future specialist are formed. It is also important to intensify international cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere. During my foreign visits, I consistently pay special attention to strengthening partnerships with leading global educational institutions," said Qasym-Jomart Toqaev.

As the head of state emphasized, there is a large-scale task — to educate a generation of citizens who will live and create in the era of global digital civilization and the knowledge economy.

"Therefore, on my instructions, the systematic introduction of artificial intelligence into the secondary education system has begun. New technologies, when used wisely, will significantly ease pedagogical work and become a reliable tool that frees teachers from routine. Teachers should have more time for mentoring and live work with students. An important step has already been taken in this direction. In September of this year, the Ministry of Education approved the Standard for the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Education. All schools in the country will have access to advanced methodologies and digital platforms, regardless of whether they are located in a metropolis or a remote village. We have a good foundation, and the work has begun in the right direction. The results of the international PISA-2025 study show that our schools already exceed the average indicator of OECD member states in terms of digital readiness. The cognitive adaptability index of students is also above average. But this is only a starting point, not a reason for complacency. We have a huge amount of work ahead. Therefore, we should certainly not rest on our laurels," the president noted.
