President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev held a meeting with US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor on the sidelines of the BRICS summit. At the start of the talks, the American representative delivered a personal message from President Donald Trump to the head of state, congratulating him ahead of the 35th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence, infohub.kz reports.
Qasym-Jomart Toqaev thanked the US President for his warm wishes and reaffirmed his invitation to the American leader to visit Kazakhstan.
The head of state noted the dynamic development of the expanded Kazakh-American strategic partnership, emphasizing the particular importance of further strengthening cooperation.
"I am now preparing to take part in the G20 summit in Miami. I think this will also be a good opportunity to discuss bilateral agenda issues. We prefer not fine words, but concrete deeds and practical steps to advance our mutual cooperation," the President of Kazakhstan said.
Sergio Gor, for his part, noted that thanks to close and trusting contacts between the leaders of Kazakhstan and the United States, bilateral relations have reached an unprecedentedly high level.
"Today, trade, economic and other ties between our countries are actively developing. Our President pays great attention to strengthening partnership with Kazakhstan and Central Asia," the special envoy noted.
The meeting also reviewed a number of important areas of joint work, with a focus on such priority fields as artificial intelligence and digitalization.
In conclusion, the interlocutors confirmed their commitment to further expanding multifaceted partnership and giving additional impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation.
