President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev has made a number of appointments in the country's Security Council. Former Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov has been given a new position, reports infohub.kz.
Earlier it became known that Murat Baimukashev was appointed head of the Security Council apparatus. In addition, Toqaev appointed several deputies for him.
Nurzhan Kadzhiakbarov became the first deputy head of the Security Council apparatus, and he was relieved of his previous position. Kadzhiakbarov already has experience working in the Security Council: in April 2022, he was appointed deputy secretary of the Security Council.
Former Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov was also appointed deputy head of the Security Council apparatus, and the president relieved him of his previous position. Recall that Zhaksylykov headed the Ministry of Defense in January 2022, was reappointed in February 2024, and was relieved of his post on June 8, 2025. He was succeeded by Dauren Kosanov. In June, Zhaksylykov became first deputy secretary of the Security Council.
Gennady Zuev was appointed as the third deputy head of the Security Council apparatus.
