Presidential press secretary Aibek Smadiyarov said that through the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Yerbol Myrzabosynov, the head of state conveyed greetings and best wishes for further victories to the Kazakh participants in the competitions, which are held in an atmosphere of friendship and fair play.
The President thanked the coaches and champions, and also promised to reward all those who, through their hard work, contributed to the overall success of the national team.
Earlier it was reported that the Kazakh team continued to win awards at the 6th World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan.
The 6th World Nomad Games are taking place in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 6. Kazakhstan is represented by a team of 152 athletes competing in 42 sports.
According to interim results, the Kazakh team is in first place in the overall medal standings. As of September 4, Kazakh athletes have won 55 medals: 25 gold, 13 silver, and 17 bronze.
In second place is the Kyrgyz team, with 58 medals — 23 gold, 24 silver, and 11 bronze. Third is the Russian team, which has won 4 gold, 6 silver, and 13 bronze medals.
So far, Kazakh representatives have competed in 31 of the 42 sports on the Games program. Medals have been won in audaryspak, Kazakh kuresi, alysh, arm wrestling, sambo, tug of war, traditional archery, horse racing, hunting with birds of prey, and other disciplines.
The competitions are ongoing, so the standings in the medal table may still change. Kazakh athletes are set to compete in 11 more sports.
About 3,000 athletes from 113 countries are participating in the 6th World Nomad Games.
