President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev spoke at a briefing about digitalization in the country and the role of artificial intelligence, reports infohub.kz.
Journalists asked the head of state how digitalization and artificial intelligence actually affect the daily lives of Kazakh citizens. The President reminded that the current year has been declared the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, and added that more details would be provided in his upcoming address.
"We have passed the first stage of building a digital state - a state of digital services. You can see for yourselves that life has become much easier compared to other countries. Without leaving your apartment, you can accomplish a huge number of tasks that previously required a lot of time, going to various offices, and so on. So this is a state of digital service, and it is a necessary stage. Now we are at the second stage, and I have instructed the government not to linger on the so-called presentation stage, the stage of conducting international negotiations," said Qasym-Jomart Toqaev.
According to him, it is necessary to put digitalization and artificial intelligence at the service of the people, all citizens of Kazakhstan. "Simply put, a smartphone is not just a toy. A smartphone is not just a device for endlessly watching TikTok. A smartphone is a tool for earning money. That's how we should frame it. This is especially true for agricultural producers, who can and should use modern technology to run their businesses without leaving their regions, living in rural areas. This is the task our government will carry out at the next stage," the President emphasized.
