In the mountains of the Almaty region, rescuers found and evacuated a tourist who was injured while climbing Peak Karnizny. The accident occurred at an altitude of about 4,500 meters, where a rockfall left the tourist with leg and face injuries, unable to descend on his own. His whereabouts were unknown for some time, according to infohub.kz.

"Search teams from the Operational Rescue Unit of Konayev city, the republican rescue service 'Barys' of the Kazakh Emergency Ministry, and the Almaty city emergency rescue service were immediately dispatched," the Emergency Ministry reported.

Together, rescuers located the injured tourist and organized his evacuation. A Kazaviaspas helicopter was used to extract him from the remote area.

"The victim was flown to Boralday airport, where a Disaster Medicine Center team was waiting. He was then hospitalized at the Almaty City Clinical Hospital," the ministry said.
