Toyota has marked the 10th anniversary of the C-HR by launching an updated GR Sport version. The sporty crossover gets a new matte Onyx Grey shade and 20-inch alloy wheels for the occasion, reports infohub.kz.
The updated C-HR GR Sport retains the same powertrain lineup but gains a number of exterior and technical refinements. A head-up display is now standard, while a panoramic roof and JBL audio system are available as options.
The GR Sport is offered with hybrid powertrains producing 140 and 180 horsepower, as well as a plug-in hybrid version with 223 horsepower. The latter can travel up to 66 kilometers on electric power alone on the WLTP combined cycle.
The crossover's chassis has been tuned by the GR division: it features Frequency Selective Control dampers, an additional dynamic damper, and retuned steering.
Over the past ten years, Toyota has sold more than 2.1 million C-HR crossovers worldwide, with over 1.2 million sold in Europe. The second generation has been in production since 2023.
In CIS countries, including Kazakhstan, the C-HR arrived in 2018. The model remains a niche offering in the local market. At the time of publication, Kolesa.kz lists 53 C-HR for sale, ranging from 2018 to 2023 models.
Toyota has so far updated the GR Sport version only for the European market.
Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported that Toyota plans to revive the Celica with a hybrid and all-wheel drive.
