This morning, a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado rolled over on the Astana-Shchuchinsk highway, right at a toll collection point, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the national company KazAvtoZhol, the incident occurred on August 15 at 08:43 near the Astana toll plaza. Preliminary findings indicate that the driver fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash into road infrastructure elements between the third and fourth lanes.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, declined medical assistance. Traffic on the third and fourth lanes was temporarily restricted due to the crash. After clearing the scene, traffic was fully restored at 11:34.
The company noted that the collision damaged a road sign, a divider buffer, and a concrete block. Drivers were reminded that fatigue reduces concentration and reaction time just as much as other dangerous factors. "If you feel drowsy, heavy eyes, or notice your attention slipping while driving, don't try to push through to your destination. Stop in a safe place and rest. Today, it ended with a damaged car and road infrastructure. In another situation, the cost of a few seconds of sleep could be much higher," the statement said.
