Drivers planning trips along the international highway "Aktobe – Uralsk – Russia border (Syrym checkpoint)" have been warned of a temporary traffic restriction. Due to repair work on a bridge over the Shagan River, traffic for all vehicle types will be completely halted on July 26 for six hours, reports infohub.kz citing KazAvtoZhol (National Company Kazakhstan Highway).
According to road services, repairs will be carried out on the Shagan River bridge located at the 247th kilometer of the international highway KAZ10 "Aktobe – Uralsk – Russia border (Syrym checkpoint)" in the West Kazakhstan Region.
"Due to restoration work, on July 26, 2026, temporary traffic restrictions will be imposed for all types of vehicles. The restrictions will be in effect from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.," KazAvtoZhol reported.
Drivers are advised to consider the changes when planning trips, choose alternative routes in advance, and understand the temporary inconveniences caused by the repair work.
After the restoration work is completed, traffic on the bridge is expected to resume in normal mode.
