Drivers have been warned about temporary traffic restrictions on a section of the Astana–Karaganda–Almaty highway in the Almaty Region due to repair works, reports infohub.kz.
According to the national road operator KazAvtoZhol, traffic will be temporarily restricted on the republican highway KAZ01 Astana–Karaganda–Almaty in the Almaty Region due to road construction works.
The restriction will be in effect from August 17 to 20, 2026, daily from 06:00 to 20:00, on the section from km 1177 (Aksay village) to km 1186 (Zhibek Zholy village).
"During this period, traffic will be restricted for all types of vehicles. Alternative routes for bypassing the closed section are provided via the roads: Aksay–Baikent, Baikent–Boraldai, Boraldai–Zhibek Zholy," KazAvtoZhol specified.
Drivers are asked to plan their routes in advance, take into account temporary restrictions, and follow traffic signs.
"We apologize for the temporary inconvenience. The restrictions are necessary for safe and high-quality road construction works," KazAvtoZhol added.
