A family tragedy in the village of Kurchum, East Kazakhstan region, has resulted in two deaths. The bodies of a 31-year-old woman and her common-law husband were found in a private house. Criminal cases have been opened in connection with the incident, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the East Kazakhstan Police Department, the woman died on August 23 from injuries sustained. It has been preliminarily established that the injuries were inflicted by her partner, who was in a state of alcohol intoxication. After that, the man committed suicide.
Criminal cases have been initiated by the police department of the Kurchum district. Necessary investigative actions are currently underway to establish all circumstances of the incident. The department added that other information is not subject to disclosure in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
