Six men went to the forest near the village of Kayyndy to drive out a roe deer. They quickly spotted the prey, but soon a shot rang out, which proved fatal for one of the hunters.
A local resident, Ulykbek Umirzhanov, said: "The district police officer called me and said that hunters had shot each other. Then he roughly gave the location, and I went there in my car. I took them. I saw a corpse lying there. It was clear it was buckshot. In that direction. They accidentally shot each other. A branch got in the way, and the one walking behind, I think, as I heard, fired. In short, an accident."
Residents of Kayyndy said that that morning they heard several shots from afar. The deceased was 64 years old. A 43-year-old hunter, from whose gun the fatal shot was fired, has been detained. It turned out that the men had all the necessary documents: hunting permits and licenses for the hunt.
Now the investigation will have to reconstruct the full picture of the tragedy.
