U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington is preparing to conclude a "major deal" to purchase potash fertilizers from Belarus, according to infohub.kz.
The American leader made the statement on Truth Social. According to him, the United States is working on a large contract for the supply of Belarusian potash fertilizers.
"The United States is working on a major deal to purchase potash fertilizers from Belarus. The price will be significantly lower than what we currently pay Canada, which is very good news for our farmers and ranchers. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Donald Trump wrote.
Earlier, in March, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko spoke of an upcoming "big deal" with the United States. According to him, the agreement would reflect "a number of issues."
In addition, in late August, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced plans to impose retaliatory tariffs against the United States on a "dollar-for-dollar" basis.
