US President Donald Trump has offered Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) head Dana White a post in the White House, the website infohub.kz reports.

The US president urged the well-known sports executive to take the role of White House press secretary. The position became vacant after the dismissal of Katie Zacharia, who lasted five days in the job and left following her first briefing.

Trump also suggested that White bring several current and former UFC fighters onto the team, including some who are not US citizens.

"I am pleased to announce that the great Dana White, a fierce fighter and warrior, has been offered the position of press secretary of the United States. I have asked him to bring assistants with him, even if some of them are not from our country, such as Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harrison. We need these people to protect us from the crazy left. Dana will be a press secretary like no other. Please take the job!" Trump wrote.

White shared the US president's post in his Instagram stories. The UFC chief also posted an image of himself styled as White House press secretary. "On to the next chapter," the caption read.

Earlier, amid Republican losses in the midterm elections, Trump replaced the leadership of the White House staff. Stephen Miller will become the new chief.
