US President Donald Trump has weighed in on the situation in France, calling on the country's authorities to close its borders, infohub.kz reports.
The White House chief stated his position on his Truth Social profile, blaming immigrants for the current situation.
"France is burning! Immigration from a completely different world, from people whose hearts are filled with hatred, has destroyed what was once a great country. Close the borders and take control of the situation before it is too late!" Trump said.
Recall that in late September, France was swept by protests by high school students. The day before, spontaneous protests took place in Paris ahead of a large student demonstration, one of which ended in clashes with police and the use of tear gas.
French President Emmanuel Macron issued a statement amid the ongoing protests in the country, expressing support for law enforcement officers.
Meanwhile, Marine Tondelier, a French presidential candidate from the Green party "Les Écologistes," called on Interior Minister Laurent Nunez to resign.
