US President Donald Trump has leveled fresh sharp accusations at Iran, saying Tehran is trying to artificially influence global oil prices ahead of the US midterm elections, the website infohub.kz reports.
In a post on Truth Social, the American leader claimed Iran is resorting to various forms of pressure, including spreading reports of attacks and mines. "Iran is doing everything possible to raise oil prices before the US midterm elections. They are even making up false reports about attacks, mines and everything else, even though more oil is now passing through the Strait of Hormuz than even before the conflict began," the US President wrote.
Trump also accused the Iranian authorities of killing protesters and other people who, he said, get in their way. "They keep killing protesters and everyone who stands in their way. This is a truly evil regime, and I can only hope that the American people and the whole world understand how evil they are! 75,000 protesters have died in less than seven months. It is astonishing that the world and the Democratic Party seem not to care," the US President said.
Concluding the post, Trump once again stressed his position on Iran's nuclear program. "Iran can never have a nuclear weapon, and it will never have a nuclear weapon!" he said.
