US President Donald Trump made a striking statement amid proposals by tech companies to slow down the development of artificial intelligence, according to infohub.kz.
In a post on Truth Social, the American leader responded to an initiative to pause the rapid advancement of AI. According to him, the only control or restriction needed for artificial intelligence is a strong and smart president with a high IQ, and the US has one—in abundance.
Trump emphasized that his administration did not allow people in the AI field to do evil or commit potentially dangerous acts. As an example, he cited Dario from Anthropic, who, according to the president, is now pretending to be a "total angel." The head of state assured that the US would continue in the same spirit, noting that the country already has enormous powers—both in criminal law and in regulation—to control these companies.
Furthermore, Trump stated that a "sick conspiracy" is being woven against AI and data centers. "The only one happy about this is China. Whoever wins the AI race will win overall. We are ahead of China and everyone else and will continue to hold the lead. Conspiracy theorists, state traitors, betrayers, and those who leak information—watch out! Thank you for your attention to this matter!" the US president wrote.
Recall that earlier, the head of Anthropic—the company developing the Claude chatbot—Dario Amodei called for a pause in the rapid development of more powerful artificial intelligence models. He was joined by SpaceX founder Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Musk said that back in 2014 he argued that AI could be "more dangerous than nuclear weapons." Trump, responding to journalists' questions, criticized these statements.
