US President Donald Trump said he held a phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, resulting in an agreement on diesel fuel supplies to the American and global markets, according to infohub.kz.
The White House chief wrote about this on his Truth Social profile.
"I just completed very successful talks with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, during which an agreement was reached that Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the American and global markets, another 500,000 tons during November, and then immediately another 1,000,000 tons," Trump said.
The American president said that thanks to this, as well as control of the Strait of Hormuz, fuel prices will fall in the US and around the world.
"Lower prices for Americans, especially our wonderful farmers, ranchers and truckers, is my top priority. This is a very important and significant statement," Trump said.
After these statements, the US Treasury Department said on social media X that it had issued a license for Russian diesel fuel supplies.
