US President Donald Trump has confirmed he intends to take part in the November Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in China. He made the announcement during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to infohub.kz.
"We'll be attending. And we'll be discussing a lot," Trump said at the meeting with Xi Jinping.
According to the report, a few days earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said a face-to-face meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump could take place on the sidelines of the November APEC summit. In his words, if both leaders attend the same event, their talks would be inevitable.
The White House chief also said a few days ago that he could hold another meeting with Putin.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that trilateral Russia–US–Ukraine talks could take place in the near future, though no specifics are available yet. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio formally invited Vladimir Putin to the Group of Twenty (G20) summit in Miami. And Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that his meeting with Trump and Putin could take place in Miami.
