US President Donald Trump claims he made the country about $10 billion through a deal involving TikTok. He said this at a rally in Arizona, according to CBS News, as reported by infohub.kz.

According to the network, at the event the White House chief bragged about his social media success. "I made the country $10 billion on TikTok," he said.

Trump also compared his popularity on the platform to that of a famous American singer. "Taylor Swift is No. 19. And I'm No. 1. Can you believe that? Everyone keeps saying, 'Oh, TikTok is China.' Well, I'm No. 1 on TikTok, and all I do is say good things about us," CBS News quoted him as saying.

Recall that after taking office, Trump signed an executive order on TikTok's operations in the US. It was noted that the politician, who tried to ban the app on national security grounds during his first term, vowed to "save" TikTok before his second inauguration.

In January 2025, it was reported that the US Supreme Court upheld a law requiring the Chinese company ByteDance to divest its ownership of TikTok or the app would be banned in the US. On January 19, TikTok ceased operations in the US.

Soon after, TikTok began working again for US users about 12 hours after the shutdown.
