US President Donald Trump has said he is ready to hold a trilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, infohub.kz reports.

According to the White House chief, he would meet with Putin and Xi if they wanted it themselves. "I would do it," Trump said when asked by journalists about the possibility of trilateral talks.

The American leader also named a likely venue for such a meeting. "I think it would take place in China," he said.

Trump also identified the issue for which the leaders of the three countries might gather. "We'll schedule a meeting on the basis of (talks on — ed.) denuclearization," he explained.

In addition, the White House chief commented on negotiations with Putin on settling the conflict in Ukraine. "We are negotiating with him on Ukraine. So I don't want to disrupt the negotiations halfway. And, by the way, I have the right to do it at any moment, immediately. So if nothing works out, I can always do it," Trump said.

It was reported earlier that Russia, the US and China had allowed for the possibility of a trilateral meeting at which the situation in Ukraine is expected to be discussed. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha believes that a possible meeting between Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will not help end the war.
