U.S. President Donald Trump called for a change in Ukraine's leadership, saying the country should find a new leader capable of making deals, according to infohub.kz.
According to RBC, Trump made the statement while speaking to reporters before departing for Tennessee. He said it was time for Ukraine to elect a new leader.
"I suggest they find a new leader who knows how to make deals, because he could make many deals, but for some reason he never does," he said.
The American leader stressed that if he had been president, the conflict "would never have happened." "It all started because of incompetence," he added. According to Trump, Ukraine has already lost 30% of its territory.
"And I think it's time for Ukraine to get a new president," he concluded.
Ukraine responded immediately. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha commented on the situation. Zelensky "enjoys the support of the Ukrainian people," and it is the people who "have the right to make decisions," Sybiha stressed.
"Statements from abroad only confirm that he (Volodymyr Zelensky — ed.) is doing an excellent job," the head of Ukraine's foreign ministry concluded on social media X.
