Nearly 127,000 Kazakh applicants have submitted applications to compete for educational grants, according to infohub.kz.
This year, over 75,000 grants are available for bachelor's programs. Sixty percent are allocated to engineering fields, 20% to pedagogy, and the remaining 20% to other sectors based on labor market needs. Engineering, processing and construction specialties, pedagogical sciences, and information and communication technologies remain the most popular for several years running.
"The highest competition per grant is expected among future translators, diplomats, lawyers, psychologists, and teachers," said the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Grant decisions are made by a republican competition commission comprising representatives of state bodies, public organizations, and public figures. Lists of grant recipients will be published by August 10, and enrollment in universities will be completed by August 25.
