A tragedy unfolded at a maternity hospital in Kaskelen, where premature triplets died shortly after birth. Relatives of the infants are demanding that those responsible be held accountable, reports the website infohub.kz.

A 28-year-old woman gave birth to three sons at six months of pregnancy. According to relatives, two of the infants died immediately after birth, and the father learned of the third child's death by chance. Grief-stricken, the parents are now asking for the body of their son and insist on a thorough investigation.

Relatives claim that a Cesarean section was recommended for the woman in labor, but doctors insisted on a natural birth. "We were told that a C-section should have been performed. But for some reason, they made Aidana give birth naturally. In the morning, she wrote to her husband that two children had died. The doctors said the third was in the neonatal unit. We went to bury the two infants. Then we found out that the third had also died. Why did the doctors hide this from us?" said relative Zhazira Tuleshova.

Relatives also say they were not informed of the cause of death. "They gave us two children in a box without any documents. Personally, at half past one in the afternoon, they handed me two children in a box. We want to know how this all happened, how we lost our children. What happened? We demand an exhumation and DNA confirmation for all three children," said relative Yerzhan Yekeybayev.

Doctors claim they acted according to protocol. According to them, the pregnant woman was urgently hospitalized. The three newborns had extremely low birth weight — their organs were not fully developed. "A triplet birth at 25 weeks is a critical condition and requires immediate hospitalization. A birth weight of up to 500 grams is considered extremely low, with vital organs, especially the lungs and central nervous system, not yet fully formed," said the press service of the Karasai Clinical Multidisciplinary Central District Hospital.

Now, the grief-stricken parents are waiting for the body of the third child to be handed over. Relatives have filed a complaint with the police — they want those responsible for the tragedy to be punished.
