US President Donald Trump has announced a meeting with new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham in the near future, following a phone call between the two leaders, according to infohub.kz.
Trump shared the news on his Truth Social account. 'I had a very good conversation with the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham. We covered many topics, including our long-standing and excellent US-UK relations. We plan to meet in person soon to discuss issues of mutual interest,' he wrote.
According to Trump, the new British PM faces a huge task, but the US is ready to help. 'We discussed North Sea oil extraction, trade, the military alliance, clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz, and many other issues. The conversation was interesting and went very well,' Trump added.
Earlier, new Labour Party leader Andy Burnham officially became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after meeting with King Charles III.
