U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to appear on the radio show of his former attorney and current critic Michael Cohen. This was reported by infohub.kz.

According to Cohen, Trump's interview was recorded and will air on his 77 WABC program Thursday evening and Sunday. This is seen as a sign of reconciliation between Trump and his former confidant. Cohen once said he would "take a bullet" for Trump, but later testified against him and called him a "Cheeto-dusted cartoon villain."

Cohen said that although their relationship became "political blood sport," they had 15 years of close friendship. "The good times don't cease to have existed because the bad times came afterward," he wrote in his newsletter. "We forgave," he added.

Trump has not yet made warm public statements about Cohen, but in his social media posts this year he has referenced his former lawyer's comments about pressure from prosecutors. Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison in 2018 for campaign finance charges and lying to Congress.

In 2024, Cohen testified in the criminal case against Trump, saying that Trump tried to hide information about his relationships with porn actress Stormy Daniels and model Karen McDougal by making payments during the 2016 election campaign. Prosecutors considered these payments an illegal attempt to influence the election. Trump was found guilty on 34 counts in this case.

In 2019, Cohen testified before Congress that Trump had misrepresented the value of assets to obtain favorable loan terms and tax benefits. He gave similar testimony in a 2023 civil fraud trial in New York, which found that Trump and his companies had engaged in fraud by exaggerating his wealth for decades. However, a New York appeals court later threw out a $550 million judgment against Trump in that case.

In his 2020 memoir "Disloyal: The True Story of the Former Personal Attorney to President Donald J. Trump," Cohen called Trump an "organized crime don" and "master manipulator." But in the same book, he also expressed affection for Trump: "I had and still have a lot of affection for him," he wrote.
