U.S. President Donald Trump said he maintains good relations with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He made the statement to reporters in the Oval Office following a meeting with Zelenskyy, according to infohub.kz.
When asked about his relationships with the two leaders, Trump emphasized: "I get along with both. I get along with President Putin. I get along with President Zelenskyy."
The American leader also said he told Zelenskyy that the conflict must end. "I would like him to stop. I told him: I want to end the war," the White House chief remarked, adding that he wants to stop the loss of life.
Earlier, before the meeting with Trump, Zelenskyy had stated that the top priority of the talks would be protection against ballistic missiles. The meeting at the White House lasted about an hour. The Ukrainian side planned to discuss the supply of American interceptor missiles and progress toward a peace settlement.
