US President Donald Trump has announced the start of a "crushing economic operation" against Iran, warning other countries of consequences, according to infohub.kz.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote that no one had given Iran a better chance to make a deal than he had, but the country failed to seize the opportunity.

"Today I am announcing the most crushing economic operation ever conducted against any country! This will be an economic war and isolation of unprecedented scale," the American leader said.

The White House chief also warned other nations: "Any country that allows its financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities to provide any support to Iran will itself face enormous economic consequences. This will be an economic 'D-Day,' and we need all our allies to stand shoulder to shoulder with the United States of America to isolate and defeat the Iranian threat," Trump added.

Furthermore, the US president reiterated that Iran will "never have a nuclear weapon."

Recall that earlier, White House chief Donald Trump posted a map on Truth Social showing the Strait of Hormuz with the caption "New US Territory." In response, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that Iran would "correct the misconceptions" of the US president.

Additionally, the American president said that no negotiations between the US and Iran are currently underway or planned.
