US President Donald Trump plans to hold a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un this fall in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, according to infohub.kz.
As reported by DW citing The Wall Street Journal, sources among US officials said the meeting could take place in November in Shenzhen, where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit is to be held. However, official preparations for the meeting have not yet begun.
Officials believe Trump plans to discuss with Kim Jong-un the resumption of negotiations on Pyongyang's nuclear program.
They added that Donald Trump met with the North Korean leader three times during his first term, but talks on dismantling North Korea's nuclear infrastructure stalled. Recall that earlier the US president said that the North Korean leader had responded to his call for negotiations between the two countries.
And before that, Donald Trump boasted of good relations with the North Korean leader, posting a joint photo on social media. He also ordered the Pentagon to reduce the scale of joint US-South Korea exercises because of "good relations" with Kim Jong-un.
After announcing discussions on negotiations with North Korea, Trump published a meme featuring the country's leader Kim Jong-un.
