US President Donald Trump commented on arms sales to countries involved in military conflicts, reports infohub.kz.
On Truth Social, the White House chief said he had spoken with the leaders of China and Russia about arms supplies to Iran. "President Xi during our recent meeting in Beijing told me that under no circumstances would he transfer or sell weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran. And that also applies to Chinese companies. Given our relationship, I take him at his word. Besides, I am doing him very big favors. Likewise, President Putin, despite the terrible war ongoing in Ukraine (while my relations remain, as with President Zelenskyy), told me he would not sell weapons to Iran," Trump wrote.
The US president himself said he does not sell weapons to Ukraine, but supplies them to NATO countries, which decide their own fate. "Putin understands that I do not sell weapons directly to Ukraine, but supply them to NATO countries. They pay full price, and how exactly those weapons are then distributed, I have no idea," Trump stated.
