Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Washington next week for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, reports infohub.kz.
According to ABC News citing a White House official, the talks will take place on Tuesday, July 28. Zelensky will also attend a memorial service for U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who died recently. The two had close ties, and Graham had visited Ukraine shortly before his death.
The visit comes after Zelensky's recent statements about Russia and Iran. On Saturday, Zelensky posted on social media platform X that he had instructed Ukrainian intelligence to share information with allies that, he said, indicates Russia is assisting Iran amid the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict. According to Zelensky, since the beginning of July, Ukraine has detected Russian satellite reconnaissance of U.S. allies' facilities in the Persian Gulf and American military bases in the region. He claimed there is a "clear link" between this data and subsequent Iranian strikes.
The White House has not yet commented on these claims or confirmed whether U.S. authorities received the intelligence that Zelensky mentioned. Earlier, responding to journalists, Trump said he does not believe Russia and China are providing substantial assistance to Iran. According to Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin assured him they do not intend to support Tehran "in any significant volume."
Earlier, Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev participated in the 22nd Kazakhstan-Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum, where he proposed to Vladimir Putin to "freeze the conflict with Ukraine and return to the Istanbul formula 2.0." Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha thanked the Kazakh leader for the proposal. Later, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the proposal is not feasible.
