In September 2026, Kazakhstan's used car market stopped showing noticeable price fluctuations in either direction. Car buyer and blogger Vladislav Zhukov showed which used cars are currently selling in Almaty and how much sellers are asking for them, according to infohub.kz.

According to Zhukov, buyers have become more careful in assessing the technical condition of cars and are not ready to purchase options that require serious investment. That is why well-maintained cars continue to hold their value, while problematic examples are getting cheaper.

Even older Toyotas remain expensive on the secondary market. For example, a seller is asking 7 million tenge for a 2002 Highlander, and 5.9 million tenge for a 2001 Lexus RX. Zhukov noted that popular Japanese models do not drop noticeably in price if they are in good condition.

Among the cars listed for sale: a 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser 95 — 8 million tenge, a Hyundai Accent — 4.3 million tenge, a 2014 Toyota Corolla 180 with a manual transmission — 5.2 million tenge, a 2015 Toyota Camry 55 — 8.5 million tenge, a 2025 Changan CS55 Plus — 9 million tenge, a 2002 Toyota Highlander — 7 million tenge, a 2001 Lexus RX — 5.9 million tenge, a 2007 Lexus ES 350 — 6 million tenge.

The secondary market is seeing more and more recent Chinese cars. For instance, a 2025 Changan CS55 Plus with a 1.5-liter engine and a robotic transmission is listed for 9 million tenge. Its equipment includes heated windshield, rain sensor, cameras, lane-keeping and lane-control systems.

At the same time, the car buyer advises considering the future liquidity of such cars. According to him, new Chinese sedans and crossovers lose value faster, and turbocharged versions require attention to their technical condition.

Zhukov's main conclusion is that the market has stabilized. However, there has been no general price decline: the cost still depends heavily on the condition of a particular car.

"Prices have settled. Cars that are really in good condition are expensive, and cars whose condition is not very good, their prices have fallen," Zhukov said.

In his opinion, buyers have become more thorough in checking cars before a deal and more careful about their expenses.
