Firefighters in Turkestan extinguished a balcony fire in a residential building, preventing the flames from spreading to the apartment, infohub.kz reports.
According to NUR.KZ, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations, household items caught fire on the balcony of an apartment in the Samal microdistrict.
"The 112 emergency line of the Turkestan Region Emergency Situations Department received a report of household items burning on the balcony of an apartment on the fourth floor of a five-story residential building in the Samal microdistrict of Turkestan. Emergency Situations Ministry forces and resources were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters conducted reconnaissance, identified the source of the fire and began extinguishing it. Thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of the rescuers, the fire was extinguished without spreading to residential premises," the department said in a statement.
No injuries were reported.
"The Emergency Situations Ministry reminds: follow fire safety rules. Do not store flammable materials or combustible items on balconies that could contribute to the spread of fire," the department warned.
Earlier, eight children were rescued from a smoke-filled apartment in Ust-Kamenogorsk.
