A father in Turkestan has been held administratively liable after his son put on a police uniform and stepped into the roadway. The Turkestan Region Police Department stressed that the man put his son's life in real danger, the website infohub.kz reports.
Video of the child in a police uniform appeared on the social network Threads. According to the department, the boy dreams of becoming a police officer, put on the uniform and, accompanied by his father, went out onto the road in it, where he stopped cars.
As the Turkestan Region Police Department explained to a NUR.KZ correspondent, a clip circulated on social media showing a boy in a police uniform stopping cars in Turkestan.
The department's press service said the child was not punished either for wearing a police uniform or for dreaming of serving in the force. "On the contrary, we only welcome children's desire to link their future to service in the police. But in this case the matter is completely different. The child went out onto the roadway in the evening and stopped moving cars. At the same time, his father was nearby and filming what was happening. Such actions created a real threat to the boy's life and health. One careless move by a driver could have led to tragedy," the Turkestan Region Police Department said.
That is precisely why, the department added, the police intervened. A preventive talk was held with the child and his father, and no liability measures were applied to the boy himself. An administrative case was opened against the father for improper performance of parental duties.
"We want to emphasize: dreaming of becoming a police officer is wonderful. But putting a child in danger for the sake of a video clip is unacceptable. Dear parents! Children's safety must always come first," the Turkestan Region Police Department urged.
