Temperatures in parts of Turkey could reach 50°C, prompting authorities to advise tourists to stay indoors during the day, according to infohub.kz.
"The air temperature, especially in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions, will feel up to 50°C. Tourists and at-risk groups should not go out from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.," said Turkish therapist Dilek Şengül.
Prolonged sun exposure during the day can lead to heatstroke, dehydration, and worsening of chronic conditions, the expert warned. She urged extra caution for the elderly, pregnant women, children, and people with heart diseases.
Şengül also recommended that tourists stay inside during the hottest part of the day, drink plenty of water, wear light-colored clothing, and use headgear.
Turkey has been experiencing a persistent heatwave in recent weeks, with the highest temperatures recorded in southeastern provinces. The heat is also affecting popular tourist destinations along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts.
