An investigation into the embezzlement of state subsidies intended to support agriculture has been completed in Turkistan Region. The total damage to the budget amounted to 103 million tenge, according to infohub.kz.
The investigation was conducted by the Financial Monitoring Agency's department for Turkistan Region against an alleged criminal group, the agency said on its official Telegram channel.
According to investigators, four individual entrepreneurs and two limited liability partnerships, Nur-Keles LLP and Bimen S. LLP, formally registered to third parties, were used to carry out the illegal scheme. Actual control over them was exercised through transferred electronic digital signatures, seals, and notarized powers of attorney for managing bank accounts.
Using these entities, false information about the purchase and possession of livestock and about breeding work was entered into information systems, the agency said. Electronic applications for subsidies were then filed.
The funds received from the budget were cashed out, distributed among the scheme's participants, and used for personal purposes. The total damage amounted to 103 million tenge.
"As a result, budget funds intended to support conscientious agricultural producers and develop livestock farming in the region were used for purposes other than intended," the Financial Monitoring Agency said.
With court approval, property belonging to the suspects has been seized: two residential houses, four vehicles, a parking space, and a land plot.
One suspect has been placed in custody, while a preventive measure in the form of bail has been chosen for the second.
Other information is not subject to disclosure under Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
