Vietnam's popular tourist destinations, the capital Hanoi and the city of Ha Long, have been severely affected by Typhoon Narra, which brought floods and landslides to the regions, according to infohub.kz.
In Hanoi, a sudden rise in water levels left over 6,800 houses isolated, with more than 3,000 flooded. Two people died: one when a house collapsed due to a landslide at night. Three others were injured.
The UNESCO World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay also suffered from flooding, paralyzing tourism and transport infrastructure.
The bad weather also affected southern China, including Hainan Island. Forecasters predict rain will continue there until Wednesday. Tourists are not currently in danger: sea excursions are banned, but no damage on land has been reported.
Kazakhstanis visit Hanoi for its atmospheric Old Quarter, ancient architecture (Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda), and walks around Hoan Kiem Lake.
Ha Long Bay attracts tourists with cruises on traditional junks, cave tours, and visits to floating villages.
Hainan Island is appealing for its warm sea, direct flights from Kazakhstan, and visa-free regime of up to 30 days.
