The project to induce artificial rain in the Turkestan region is fully funded by the United Arab Emirates, according to infohub.kz.
In response to a request from the publication “Kursiv,” the Digital Government Support Center, which is under the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, provided information about the funding. The financing covers the use of aviation equipment, the work of pilots and technical specialists, the participation of an international team of scientists and meteorologists, and the provision of reagents for artificially increasing precipitation.
The center said that since the UAE bears all costs, Kazakhstan does not allocate budget funds. Data on the total cost of the operations is held by the financing side.
Earlier, the Ministry of Ecology reported that there is still no consensus in world science on artificial precipitation generation. However, existing studies prove that the concentration of reagents in cloud seeding is minimal and hardly differs from natural precipitation.
Due to insufficient study of the long-term effects of artificial rain, the international scientific community continues to collect and analyze data.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that pilots from the UAE conducted 14 operations to induce artificial rain in Kazakhstan.
